FAQ / How long will it take to bring my fiance (fiancee) to the Unites States?

The length of time varies from case to case according to particular circumstances. The time it takes each USCIS office and each consular office to process the case also varies.
Some cases are delayed because the applicant does not follow instructions carefully or supplies incomplete information. (It is important to give correct addresses and telephone numbers.) In addition, the embassy or consulate may need to get security clearances for your fiancé (fiancée).
If you would like to check current processing dates for your -129F Petition for Alien Fiancé (e), or any other Petition or Application you can do it on-line at USCIS web-site. Follow the link: https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp, chose your Service Center and click on Processing Dates.
You have to remember that after USCIS approves your I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé (e), it’s forwarded to the National Service Center for further processing (allow at least one week) and then it’s sent to the appropriate foreign consulate for processing overseas.
