News / Border Patrol Seizes Jet Ski Used for Alien Smuggling

Imperial Beach, Calif. — U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested two male Mexican nationals who illegally crossed the border at sea aboard a jet ski along the Imperial Beach coastline Saturday night.


At about 9:20 p.m., an agent patrolling the border spotted a jet ski as it traveled northbound into the U.S. from Mexico. Agents responded and found an abandoned Yamaha WaveRunner brand jet ski near Seacoast Drive. After a brief search of the immediate area, the agents found the two illegal aliens hiding in a bush in the same vicinity of the jet ski.

Upon questioning, agents charged one of the arrestees with alien smuggling. The Yamaha WaveRunner was seized.


Through the right combination of personnel, technology, and tactical infrastructure, the U.S. Border Patrol has enhanced capabilities to detect and respond to incursions at the land and coastal border in San Diego Sector.
