News / No intention of operation in Pakistan : US ambassador

LAHORE: The new US ambassador for Pakistan, Anne W. Pattersson has said that America has no intention of making any operation in Pakistan and it considers the sacrifices of Pakistan in the war against terror very valuable.

After being posted in Pakistan, the American ambassador, Anne W. Patterson, came for the first time on the tour of Lahore and visited Badshahi Mosque there.

Talking with media, the American ambassador said that the aid to Pakistan would be continued and a special attention will be given on development projects in tribal areas, particularly on the programmes of health and education of the people.

She said that the United States and Pakistan have been the allies for several years in the war against terror and Pakistan’s role in this connection is praiseworthy.

In reply to a question, Anne Patterson said that America has no role in the deal between President Pervez Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto and the people of this country have to determine themselves the affairs of Pakistani politics.
