News / Two Norman Men Plead Guilty to Robbing Norman BankOKLAHOMA CITY—DAVID ALLEN BROWN, 22, and JOSHUA DAN ROSE, 20, both from Norman, Oklahoma, pled guilty to robbing the Bank of the West, located at 2122 West Main Street, in Norman, Oklahoma (the "bank"), announced Sanford C. Coats, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.According to court records, on November 4, 2010, a white male entered the bank wearing a black knit hat, a black long-sleeve tee-shirt with a Harley Davidson logo, and shoulder length brownish-red hair. The man approached a bank employee and demanded money. After leaving the bank, a bank employee activated an alarm and the Norman Police Department responded and pulled over a vehicle occupied by the two men within 15 minutes of the robbery. The men fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed. After a short pursuit, Norman police officers stopped the vehicle again and the defendants were arrested. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a black knit hat, a black long-sleeve tee-shirt with a Harley Davidson logo, a brownish-red wig, a 9mm pistol, and the cash stolen from the bank. During the plea hearings, Brown admitted he robbed the bank and Rose admitted he was the getaway driver. Brown also admitted to being a previously convicted felon illegally in possession of the firearm found in the vehicle. At sentencing, each man faces up to 20 years in federal prison. A sentencing date will be set by the court in approximately 90 days. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Norman Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Arvo Q. Mikkanen. http://oklahomacity.fbi.gov/dojpressrel/pressrel11/ok020711.htm |
