NEWS / Arizona CBP Officers Catch Teenager Concealing Marijuana Taped to Thighs

Douglas, Ariz. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a drug smuggling attempt when they apprehended a 16-year-old boy trying to smuggle marijuana taped to his body.

On October 1, at about 2:30 p.m. CBP officers were screening travelers when they observed a 16-year-old boy wearing bulky clothes and walking very oddly. The boy was identified as a U.S citizen and resident of Douglas. The CBP officers searched the boy and found that he had two packages of marijuana taped to his inner thighs. The marijuana had an estimated street value of more than $3,700.

CBP officers seized the marijuana. The boy was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for questioning and then released to the custody of his immediate family.
