NEWS / Business students to be selected to study in Lithuania

The College of Business will select four or five outstanding students to participate in a May study abroad trip to Lithuania.

Dave Foster and Craig Ehlert of the management faculty will accompany the selected students as they travel to Vilnius, Lithuania on May 13 and return on May 27. Participants will have the opportunity for additional travel in Europe following the formal program.

In Lithuania, the Montana students and Lithuanian MBA program students at the International Business School of Vilnius University will participate in a two-week seminar in strategic management. The seminar is taught in the evenings, giving the group opportunities to visit local companies, participate in activities with management consulting organizations and visit cultural and historic sites during the day.

In addition to classroom interactions with the Lithuanian students, the project will give the Montana group the opportunity to examine business practices in a former communist country that has worked to gain admission to the European Union.

To be considered for the trip, students must be admitted to the College of Business, eligible for admission by May 2007, or an upper division student in the International Business Minor. May 2007 graduates are eligible for consideration. Participants will receive a scholarship grant of up to $1,000 to cover air transportation and will be responsible only for meals, lodging and personal expenses in Europe.

Application deadline is Friday, Feb. 28.
