NEWS / CBP Officers in New York Apprehend Man Wanted for Larceny

Champlain - U.S. Customs and Border Protection Field Operations announced the apprehension of a United States permanent resident wanted in Kentucky on larceny charges.

On January 20, CBP officers encountered James Earl Pittman, a 42-year-old United States citizen from Yonkers, N.Y., as he applied for admission into the United States at the Champlain, N.Y. port of entry. A primary name query revealed that Mr. Pittman may be the subject of an active arrest warrant out of the state of Kentucky.

CBP officers conducted records checks, to include fingerprint queries, which verified that Mr. Pittman was in fact the subject of an active nation-wide no bond warrant issued by the Boone County Sherriff’s Department.

CBP officers verified the validity of the warrant and confirmed extradition to Kentucky. Mr. Pittman was arrested and turned over to the custody of the New York State Police pending extradition to Kentucky.
