NEWS / FOUR TIME CONVICTED FELON EXILED TO 11 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR DISTRIBUTING TWO GRAMS OF CRACK

Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Andre M. Davis sentenced Deshon Thomas age 33, of Baltimore, Maryland, today to 11 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein and Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy. Judge Davis enhanced Thomas’s sentence upon finding that he was a career offender based on four previous convictions for drug offenses.

According to the plea agreement, on July 6, 2006 in the 2400 block of Dorton Ct., Thomas arranged the sale of two grams of crack cocaine to an individual who was acting at the direction of the FBI. During the sale, an eight year old boy handed the individual a soda can containing the drugs.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein and Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy thanked the Baltimore City Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their work in the investigation. Mr. Rosenstein and Ms. Jessamy commended Special Assistant United States Attorney Christopher M. Mason, a cross-designated Baltimore City Assistant State’s Attorney assigned to EXILE cases, who prosecuted the case.
