NEWS / Muskego Man Charged with Receipt of Child Pornography and Interstate Travel to Engage in Illicit Sex

James L. Santelle, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced today that a federal grand jury had returned a two-count indictment charging Robert Stockman (age 39) of Muskego, Wisconsin, with receipt of child pornography and interstate travel for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor.

Count one alleges that between approximately November 1 and December 29, 2011, Stockman received via computer images constituting child pornography of a 14-year-old female in Kentucky. If convicted of this offense, Stockman would face a mandatory minimum term of five years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment. He also would face a fine of up to $250,000 and up to a life term of supervised release.

Count two alleges that on December 18, 2011, Stockman traveled from the Eastern District of Wisconsin to the Western District of Kentucky for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with the juvenile female. If convicted of this offense, Stockman would face up to 30 years in prison. He also would face a fine of up to $250,000 and up to a life term of supervised release.

The case was the result of a joint investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Louisville, Kentucky, and the City of Milwaukee Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Brian J. Resler has been assigned to prosecute this case.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
