NEWS / Saudi Arabia issues guidance on apostille procedureThe Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued guidance on the legalization of documents issued in countries that are member states of the Apostille Convention. The move facilitates the process and comes 3 months after the Apostille Convention entered into force in Saudi Arabia. Most US-issued documents, including vital records and corporate documents, can be legalized with an apostille obtained from the state in which those documents were issued. The procedure is significantly simpler than the erstwhile system in which authentication certificates had to be obtained at the state and federal level before being submitted to the Saudi Embassy or Consulate, with payment made through the online Enjaz system. So a birth certificate issued in Arizona, for example, would simply need to be apostilled in Arizona to be valid for use in Saudi Arabia. Some agencies in Saudi Arabia may also require a certified translation of the document and apostille to Arabic. The only exception is university diplomas and transcripts, which in most cases have to be attested by the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission in the United States, which must be done before obtaining an apostille for the document. The process is still relatively convoluted and includes detailed information about the study program and National Student Clearinghouse verification. A&M Logos International is here to help you legalize whatever document you may have for use in Saudi Arabia and most other countries. We have been in business for over 30 years and have considerable experience dealing with the responsible state and federal agencies; embassies and consulates; as well as cultural missions, commissions and other representative offices of nations from all over the world.
