The U.S. Department of State, Office of American Citizens Services and Crisis Management issues public announcements and travel warnings for particular countries and consular information sheets for all countries (See Appendix C, Section I). For assistance from ACS, call 202-647-5225. You may also wish to register with the U.S. embassy or consulate in the foreign country where you plan to adopt.
