FAQ / What are ports of entry?


Customs and Border Protection ports of entry are places (seaports, airports, or land border ports) designated by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security where CBP officers or employees are assigned to accept entries of merchandise, clear passengers, collect duties, and enforce the various provisions of CBP and other agency laws.
