FAQ / Where are the biggest growth areas for outsourcing and why?

Information technology outsourcing continues to be strong due to the maturity of the IT outsourcing models. However, business process outsourcing appears to be the area of the greatest growth. This is largely due to the more recent expansion of outsourcing into areas such as human resources, consumer relations, finance and accounting, and facilities management. As companies have gained confidence in outsourcing through their experience with IT outsourcing, they are looking to these other areas to providing additional cost savings and efficiencies. The suppliers’ capabilities in these areas are also maturing as they gain more experience, improve their systems and processes, gain subject matter expertise, and build more share services centers. The content of this FAQ is intended to provide a general guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought about your specific circumstances.
