NEWS / CBP Officers Arrest Suspected Sex Offender

El Paso, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Bridge of the Americas international crossing in El Paso made a significant arrest Thursday afternoon.

The individual taken into custody was wanted by the El Paso Sherriff’s Office on sexual assault of a child charges. This is one of 32 wanted fugitives that CBP officers from the West Texas/New Mexico area ports apprehended in the last seven days.

The arrest was made at 12:40 p.m. when a man applied for entry to the United States via a vehicular lane at BOTA. A CBP officer working at the primary inspection queried the driver and sole occupant of a 1986 Isuzu pick-up. Record checks revealed that the subject, a 76-year-old, had an outstanding warrant for five counts of indecency with a child / sexual contact. The El Paso Sheriff’s Office confirmed the warrant and took the subject into custody.

“Our officers did an outstanding job in intercepting and confirming the identity of this dangerous individual,” said William Molaski, CBP port director in El Paso, Texas. “This is a great example of our officers utilizing CBP enforcement tools to make a significant arrest.”

CBP officers in El Paso apprehended 76-year-old David Dominguez, a legal permanent resident, of El Paso, Texas. He was wanted in El Paso on sexual assault of a child charges.

While anti-terrorism is the primary mission of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the inspection process at the ports of entry associated with this mission results in impressive numbers of enforcement actions in all categories.
