NEWS / CBP Arrests Wanted Individuals at Niagara Bridges

Buffalo, N.Y. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced today the apprehension of two United States citizens wanted on active felony warrants. The wanted individuals were encountered in separate incidents at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and the Lewiston Bridge in Lewiston, N.Y. yesterday.

Arrested at Rainbow Bridge was Terrel Goodley, a 29-year-old United States citizen from Port St. Lucie, Florida. Record checks conducted on Goodley revealed that there was an active warrant of arrest for him out of Stuart, Florida. CBP Officers verified the validity of the warrant and confirmed extradition. A warrant was issued for Goodley by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office for three counts of uttering forged bills and four counts of grand theft. Goodley was arrested by CBP Officers and turned over to the custody of the Niagara Falls Police Department pending extradition to Florida.

Arrested at the Lewiston Bridge was Dale Thorne, a 33-year-old citizen of Guyana, permanent resident of the United States living in Richmond Hill, New York. Checks on Thorne were positive for an active warrant in the state of Virginia for charges of failure to appear for a prior arrest of possession of a controlled substance. Thorne was arrested by CBP Officers and turned over to the custody of New York State Police pending extradition to Virginia.

Both men were encountered after being refused entry into Canada as a result of their criminal records and outstanding warrants.

“While balancing the flow of legitimate trade and travel, CBP officers routinely intercept wanted criminals,” said James T. Engleman, CBP field operations director for the Buffalo area.
