NEWS / Ombudsman Office Realizes Joint Project with UNICEF


Ombudsman Office informs that they jointly with UNICEF representative office in Azerbaijan starting from July 2006 have been realizing 6-month program. The purpose is enlarging of activity of center on the rights of the child created in the Ombudsmen institution and strengthening of enlightening works in regions.
With this purpose representative of Ombudsman organized 3-day training courses on ???Mechanisms of Protection of the Rights of the Child in Azerbaijan??? in Gandja, Guba and Sharur region of Nakhchivan.
The courses provided information on human rights and freedoms, including Convention of the Rights of the Child, role of Ombudsman in exercising the right of the child and those exercised within the frames of state programs connected with children.
Interactive games were held to teach pupils regulations of Convention on the Rights of the Child during 1-day course at Guba special secondary boarding school.
After training school articles were given to children.
Within the frames of program training will be organized in 2 regions.
