NEWS / Police: Mt. Laurel woman tried to use forged document

MEDFORD — A Mount Laurel woman was charged yesterday with presenting an altered birth certificate at a state Motor Vehicle Commission office on Route 70, police said.

Genevieve A. Frederico, 65, of Stratford Lane was charged with exhibiting a forged document, using a forged document and possession of a forged document.

Police said Frederico was trying to renew her driver’s license when she presented a birth certificate that had been altered in three places in an attempt to show that she was one year younger than her actual age. Police were called to the office, where they arrested Frederico.

After Frederico was charged, she was released pending a court hearing.
